Message from RAF

 ---------------------

Please note, that we hope to do similar events in the future that will allow DEI practitioners to connect together, share ideas and dreams, and continue to work for change in our communities. We would love to expand this invite list to others that work within the field of DEI or who are advocates of this work in their  personal and professional lives. To that end, please feel free to send any contact information for individuals who you would like to be able to see involved to myself for addition to the list, [email protected].

Longtime Rochester resident and community activist, George Thompson, a member of the RAF Board of Trustees and DEI Committee, had this to say about the DEI practitioner gatherings,

“It is a pleasure to bring people together to assist in the work of making our communities safe and fair for ALL people. Together we are able to do things that lone individuals can’t. This work is hard. It involves wrestling with different patterns and structures that have existed for a long time, and people often have strong reactions to this. Yet what motivates the work we are doing are the next generations—our kids, grandkids and their kids. Indigenous people have long shared the wisdom of the ‘Seventh Generation Principle’ which means you should always think about how the words and actions you choose today will impact those seven generations into the future.”

We are grateful for the commitment of so many individuals in our community who embody this spirit and diligently work to create more loving, inclusive, equitable communities ALL can belong to!
