Takeaways

Voice Amplification:

  • Leverage and grow CMRC's reach to promote member events to drive more attendance such as Global Market, Business Startups
  • CMRC to amplify the need of community event planning to minimize events overlaps and maximize cross traffic
  • December 3 Global Market and Winter Market on the same Saturday. Can these events be coordinated to maximize interests?
  • Kiwanis Hockey in December can direct traffic to food venues since they are both at Graham Arena
  • Venue concentration advantages to enhance guest visit experience. Continue to build out the business and social case for a "Cultural Hall"

Civic Equity

  • Connect Community Corrections services with CMRC membership groups (Cambodian and Journie). EG: Pre-trial service and Cognitive curriculums

Health Equity

  • SHIP grant : potential to change maximum grant from 3K to each awardee to a larger award that favors collective impact efforts that have larger population impacts.
  • Other Health grants opportunities (MDH Eliminating Health Disparities; Project HEALINGS (Mini-grant): CMRC members can apply on their own or for larger impact and win potential frame the proposal to a BIPOC/CMRC ecosystem co-design context

Education Equity

  • In future CMRC and RPS engagements, bring focus to individual DEI goals and actions in RPS strategic plan, accountability and what CMRC can help
  • RPS web redesign input particularly from a CMRC cultural lens
