Background
The City of Rochester and Destination Medical Center want to increase project participation of Small, Minority, Women and Disadvantaged businesses on our projects.
In order to achieve this, we believe it is important to understand the current eco-system, the challenges, and the barriers of the stakeholders involved. In December 2022, the City and DMC put forth a Request for Proposal to analyze the barriers for DBE firms.
The contract was awarded to Saint Paul based firm, MaKee Company, led by CEO, R. Lynn Pingol. MaKee Company emerged from the six proposal responses because of their knowledge of federal and state procurement and contracting, construction industry experience, and engagement with DBE firms throughout Minnesota.

MKC is scheduled to host a series of stakeholder listening sessions on February 8th . We have schedule a Capacity Builders Listening session from 3-430pm.
