Social Services Action Group News

Monday January 22 at 6:30 p.m.

As we continue our journey addressing local issues with poverty, homelessness, and social services, please join us for an important meeting where we will review the caucus training presented by Isaiah Minnesota.    Meeting location: Congregational Church, 974 Skyline Drive SW.  Their agenda parallels much of the goals for In the City for Good and many of you may be familiar with them.

ISAIAH is a vehicle for congregations, clergy, and people of faith to act collectively and powerfully towards racial and economic equity in the state of Minnesota

Isaiah will present a non-partisan “faith agenda” starting this weekend in preparation for their caucus trainings and will be shared with gubernatorial candidates and any other legislative and local candidates this election year.

If you are planning on attending your party’s precinct caucus on February 6, or even if you are not, you are invited to attend this meeting to help prepare for those caucuses with a review of Isaiah’s strategy and “faith” agenda” and how to effectively engage with your candidates or to engage with your party through to party conventions at the beginning of June.  If you are not able to attend Monday night, consider contacting klozada@isaiahmn.org to attend their training on Sunday from 2 to 4 at St Francis Catholic Church.

February 26, 2016, 6:30 p.m. Guest: Kathryn Lozada, So Minnesota Organizer for Isaiah MN.

Join us as we hear more about action and partnership possibilities with Isaiah.  Meeting location: Congregational Church, 974 Skyline Drive SW.
