Event Intro
Well Living Lab is partnering with Urbaneer to establish a Home Innovation Lab in Rochester.
Our mission is to transform how living environments are designed, constructed, and occupied to advance healthy aging and wellness in the residential building industry.
The home will be located on a site on 1st Avenue SW owned by the University of Minnesota Rochester and adjacent to the Discovery Square innovation district.
Construction is anticipated to commence in Q4, 2026 with the Home Innovation Lab operational by Q2, 2027.
The site will also include an Experience Center designed as an environment to showcase best-in-class products and test emerging technologies.
The inspiration for the Home Innovation Lab came from the Destination Medical Center and together, we are working to attract developers nation-wide to Rochester to help close a significant housing gap for the age 55+ demographic.
We will have stations set up around the lab to highlight what is coming with the Home Innovation Lab including research highlights with important work we have been doing in areas of air quality, lighting, sleep, and stress recovery.
