I hope all is well with you and the rest of your teams. This is Wafa Elkhalifa with DMC. I’m emailing you today because you have been recognized for your community outreach and community engagement in Rochester, MN. As you may know, DMC was awarded $3.12 million from the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED) as part of the recently created Main Street Economic Revitalization Program. The funds will be used to help businesses in the DMC district. We need your help, and we look forward to partnering with you in maximizing our outreach efforts to ensure everyone in our community does know about the grant. We would like to identify the different ways that works with your communities to receive the information about the grant, and we are willing to schedule Facebook live sessions, zoom meetings, door knocking to reach all the businesses who should benefit from this grant.
The launch date for the application is May 2nd, 2022, so we have the month of April to finish our prep work and promote this grant to everyone. We completed our co-design sessions where we invited local minority business owners to help us design the actual application. The application will be available in 5 languages which is our effort to tackle linguistic obstacles identified by our community co-designers.
I have scheduled a teams meeting for April 8th from 1-2pm where we can go through the grant information, answer any questions, and define an outreach plan with your organization.
