Description

The 2025 DMC Annual Meeting: A Development Plan Update and Community Conversation marks a milestone moment, the 10-year midpoint of the Destination Medical Center initiative. Earlier this year, we launched the process of updating the DMC Development Plan with a deep dive into understanding the progress we’ve made together. Now, our sights are set firmly on the future.

While we came together to acknowledge the shared progress at the May 22 luncheon, this year’s annual meeting will offer a broader reflection and preview, serving as both a look back and a look ahead. We will highlight tangible achievements across Rochester’s public realm, innovation economy, and other priority areas, while also introducing the three new strategic drivers that will guide DMC’s next decade.

This is a pivotal opportunity to focus our collective vision, engage our community, and continue the shared conversation about what’s next for America’s City for Health.

Looking Ahead: America’s City for Health

At this gathering we introduced a powerful idea, America’s City for Health, not as a tagline but as a uniquely Rochester competitive strategy, organized around three driving forces.

  • Health Innovation as an Economic Engine – fueling ideas, businesses, and careers that improve lives and strengthen our economy.
  • Health Excellence as an Attractor – leveraging Rochester’s unique position as home to Mayo Clinic to attract and retain visitors, talent, students, and residents.
  • Health in the Built Environment – investing in infrastructure and public spaces that center well-being and create safe, healthy, sustainable places for all.

These strategies are at once aspirational and actionable, shaping  investments, policies, and community priorities for years to come.
