Creating American's City for Health
|
One of the greatest assets of the Rochester region is the level of
engagement and volunteerism around issues of health and community.
However, in some cases these initiatives and programs are being done in
isolation which causes confusion and at worse competition for resources.
In response to this, the working group determined that the best approach
is to 1) assess the initiatives/programs already in place, 2) share (make
visible) the initiatives/programs within and across the community 3)
connect community needs with associated initiatives/programs, and 4)
support initiative/program development to best fill community gaps.

As such we discussed the need for a space to create connections, bi-directional information sharing, relationships and action around the health issues facing Rochester and the surrounding communities.

America's City for Health - DMC Development Plan 2025 Update
|
The update intends to build on all the great work already underway in
Rochester, the learnings we have made to-date, and an understanding of changes
impacting our community. Most importantly, it will lean into what is unique about
Rochester, home to the #1 hospital in the world, centering on our brand as
America’s City for Health.
